Also if you are making bottle stoppers. A prescription pill bottle makes a great mold. Now that is with PR because PR shrinks a bit when cured and you turn the bottle upside down and bang it on the table to get the cast out.

This is what I use:

The block on the lower left is a piece of delrin that I turned a tenon on. It jams into the end of a piece of 1.5in diameter Sch80 PVC pipe. I pour vertically. When the resin cures, I pull the base off and knock the casting out with a piece of broomstick.

That's what I use. Except I got some stoppers from HomeDepot to put in the ends. Or I use blue painter's tape.. What ever is handier. And knock out with a dowel rod.

I agree that PVC is the way to go. I just did you that was 4" pvc about 6 inches tall. It took about 40 ounces of resin. I can't wait to see what it comes out like. It isn't mine, I did it for knucklefish, so we'll have to wait for him to get it turned. He's making a lidded box.
