I just saw this tree in a magazine and was wondering if anyone knows where I could find some of the cones to cast. They are blue naturally. I did a quick search and found only the trees for sale.

Rob ..... I have an idea of where to find some Koren Fir cones ... head to the GardenWeb forum and do a search. Korean Fir trees grow in the United States. Garden people love trading and sharing. The gardening forums are full of people who love to help each other. If it works out .... how about a free Rob's Special Korean Fir tree blanks? ;);)

Been doing some more research and they do appear to lose their color as the fir cones mature. The good news is that the trees start producing cones in 3-5 years of planting. I'm guessing one would have to find them at just the right time to get the steel blue color. I'm going to research this some more tomorrow and will let you know what I find.
