Hey guys. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I would like to make a blank or two for the grandmothers.

1. How do I attach the pics to the tubes?
2. What type of "photo paper" do you suggest?
3. Any other help you could provide or suggestions would be appreciated!

I am going to use simliar clear to cast them for Sierra blanks.

Please help me look like Superman!!!! It would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you again

Decals

This is my first Grandson. I did this with water slide decals. It was a hit with the family. I applied the decal and put a few coats of CA on it then MM to 12000.

I don't cast my own blanks so what I do is just make a collage of kids pictures that I print on high quality paper (small sized pictures) glue them to the tubes and then seal the pen in CA. I think it is the PSI web site that has a tutorial video on how to do it but it might be another one.

The only pen I made a picture of so far is a stamp pen. You can check it out at my web site www.imperatorpens.com click on the collector link.

I have used water decal transfer paper. It is available for laser or inkjet, white or clear. Be carefull with the inkjet one, as you must let the image fully dry then apply a sealing spray. Then let that fully dry before applying to the pen. This prevents the ink from bleeding.

You run it through your printer putting on whatever picture you like. Then cut it out and apply it to your finished pen.

I then apply a CA finish over it. I recommend doing the first two coats by flooding the blank with thin CA (no towel rubbing). The towel will move the decal (experience talking). Make sure you put a few coats on before sanding. If you accidentally sand through the decal will be destroyed, even if you are using MM (more experience talking).

I am not sure where you can get this in the states, I get mine from a model hobby store in Windsor, Ontario. The stuff I get is called Experts Choice, but I understand that Testors makes some as well.

Good Luck
