Micheal Devlin pleaded "not guilty" in this case. I know your supposed to be innocent until proven guilty but I just have to shake my head in disbelief![V]

hopefully the lock him up for a long time.

but the one thing i don't understand is why didn't the first kid leave or tell someone who he was.

the guy supposedly worked 2 jobs, kids was home by himself. played outside with the neighbors kids, stayed the night with other families, but never left.

Brainwashing, a powerful tool! We don't know all the facts but from what I gather, he was only 11, kidnapped by gunpoint, told his parents were dead. At that age you might be scared into believing anything. I hope he gets the therapy or whatever he needs to live a "normal" life. Sad!

Yeah, he'll get therapy at our expense. It's sort of like that Elizabeth Smart case. She was at parties with the guy. I'm still not exactly sure what happened with that one. A lot of nut jobs out there preying on our children. Sometimes I'm a little overprotective. But hey, I see the kind of people that are out there. The police are trying their best. We had a case here where a little girl was talking to a kid her age on that My Space site and told her he was in her class and wanted to meet her in the park. The little girl accepted and when she arrived at the park the little boy was an older guy masquerading a little boy her age. The good thing is that the little girl was an undercover police officer masquerading as a little girl. That one turned out good. How many turn out bad?

The basic status of the Elizabeth Smart case: The lawyers on both sides are fighting about forcibly medicating both abductors. When properly medicated they're judged to be sane enough to stand trial. Without it, they're not. Every time they put him, Mitchell in front of a judge he breaks out into song, belting out religous hymns until they cart him back to his cell.

Lets not forget the Judges that lets these animals walk before they even do time!
One reason I support Jesica's Law

I meant therapy for the boys. Don't care if the child abductor get therapy or not. I personally don't think therapy helps pedaphiles (sp?), JMHO!

Somebody asked why the older kid didn't just run away since he had so much freedom of action..... From what I heard, he was told by his abductor that he would kill the boy and his whole family if he left. I don't think it would take a whole lot of imagination for a kid to believe that would be a very likely consequence if he did leave!

I don't know why people behave the way they do; but it is truly a sad thing that lets us act towards each other the way we sometimes do. Did that make any sense? I mean, sometimes I do some pretty mean or thoughtless things; but when I cool down I can see where I went wrong and try to rectify (sometimes) my transgressions.

What some of these people do! I can not begin to fathom why........ I try to make allowances for the heat of anger/passion, etc., but some of the happenings just seem to be beyond any kind of rationale or emotional response that I just wonder where these minds were formed or what twisted them into such perverse behaviors.

What do you do with them? Dispose of them like a mad dog because they are inhuman or continue to try to treat them even though no real workable treatments seem to have been developed or, at least, been reliable?[:(][V][xx(]

Anyone that would harm a child is a preditor and IMO should see the end of a rope or at the very least lose there freedom for the rest of their life without posibility of parole, and then put them in general pop.

Some of these maniacs tell the kids that their parent's are already dead. Wouldn't be hard to convice an 11 year old that what would happen if you left would be worse. Life in prison is too good for them and I too don't believe therapy will help them.
