Before anyone takes offense, let's keep the bidding to numbers, please.

Long ago, Smitty started the "presidents" bidding, in an auction that was reaching the stratosphere. We should have made a "ruling" then. So, here's the "rule": Express your bid any way you like!!! Presidents, sufficient metal coin, etc. But, in the same "thread box" interpret the total for me: in dollars and cents US currency. That way there won't be misinterpretations.

The pen arrived in the mail box Monday!!!

This is a real work of art --- I got a "steal" and really know it having seen the pen "in hand". The photos did not do it justice.
