Kaleidoscopes?

PSI has kaleidoscope kits on sale at 20% off. I was thinking of doing one for each of my 5 grandkids as a Christmas present. Curious as to what others think of them in general and also any specific comments the PSI kits.

The wand kit is easily made, threaded at both ends to accept the fittings. The mirrors are pre-set for the interior size. They would be GREAT for kids. They are NOT the highest quality mirrors and they come "Pre-scratched", but not badly. You need a blank that is 2.25 long and I turn them egg-shaped.

Recommend you drill the hole and make sloped tenon from a waste block -- drive with your scroll-chuck. The other end can go right on your 60 degree live center. I use diamondwood blanks -- they polish up nice and look good.
