Good Sunday Morning
I picked up an Kal-eggascope kit while I was at Woodcraft yesterday and Evelyn picked out a grab bag of turning blanks. Here is my very first Kal-eggascope project (ok I know it doesn't look all like an egg). I'm not sure what kind of wood I used. The finish is 4 coats of WTF then sanded with 2400 MM followed by 6 more coats of MM. It's a neat kit and brings back memories of the kaleidoscope I had as a child. Any and all comments are welcome.

Nice 'scope.... I haven't made one lately, actually in more than a year, but when I was making them, they were hot sellers... you did well on the shape... I like it and you don't have to do "eggs" as long as you watch your lengths.

Thanks for the nice comments I'm glad you like the shape. I took it apart and put it back on the lathe to work on the finish some more I sanded the finish with 3600 mm applied 4 more coats of WTF and sanded from 8000 to 12000 mm. After I did that I'm sure it is Walnut. Chuck if I may ask what did you kal-eggascopes go for.
