totaly screwed up the turning but the blank came out really cool so I just had to show it. Only made the 1 blank so no more until I free up some "Me" casting time

It's drilled out, no tubes no reverse paint.

Thanks, there's a layer of grey below the white along with a touch of black under that to give that effect.

The pics aren't the greatest. The blank isn't sanded or anything so it's not super shiny. The colors would pop more if it was. Instead it's just a pass with a sharp skew to clean it up.

I'm sorry it didn't turn out. The depth of that blank is amazing. Great work Jonathon.

Really nice colors and texture. A beaut. Hope you kept the recipe! :)

Very pretty. The blank looks kind of like glacier ice to me. The story reminds me of my favorite print ad. It's for Crown Royal. The picture shows a bottle with the back broken out. The label, shoulders and neck of the bottle are intact and scotch is flowing out around the shards in a beautiful rainbow reflection. The caption simply reads "Have you ever seen a grown man cry?".

Beautiful cast as always, and better luck with the turning next time.

Regards,
Eric

Thanks Yall!

Oh I wrote this one down! What as really sad about the whole turning failure is this was for a swap on another forum. We had to use specific colors and this blank was spot on for it. Now I had to go to plan B. Worked out great, but still sad this one didn't work out!

Jonathan- if you don't mind sharing a secret, what are you using to get that color of white?

Lol...Not a huge secret Richard. Although I'm using something different, the castin craft white is the same if not a touch brighter white. Plus you can either get it locally or online.

I can see why you are sad about this one - what a beauty! I have a couple of blanks that I keep around just because they are pretty and I like to look at them. That would make my keeper list, without being in pen form.

:biggrin::biggrin:depending how long the piece is I have a wall street kit that would look great with that blank:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Can't believe I didn't see this one before tonight. That one is really special. If you didn't say otherwise, I'd swear it was reverse painted.
