And WOW, I was a kid in a candy store. [:p][:p] You name it, they probably had access to it. I could of spent a couple more hours looking around. But the wife and grandson was getting impatient. I did grab a primo chunk of Camphor burl that has lots of eyes. Gorgeous piece of wood. It's just too bad it is a bit of a trek to get there, I'd like to spend more time and money, there. :D And if I had some more money with me, I would of grabbed this big chunk of Amboyna they had too. Anyone need a 6 foot by 10 foot by 3inch piece of Redwood burl? I wanted to load it up and take it home. Beautiful figure on it.[:p]

Hey Steve where exactly is the wood import store. I live just outside of Portland OR. and have family throughout Washington, I just might have to make a trip. Thanks.

It is call Edensaw Woods. They have a location in Kent and in Port Townsend.

And I was good, I drove right past Harbor Freight tools and Rockler and Woodcraft is real close. I didn't go there. But, I am going back. My wife wants a large table. So I will be buying lots of Cherry. OH BTW. Their prices are very reasonable.

Joe,

All you have to do is drive to Gilmer's. You will be hard pressed to find better selection anywhere. http://www.gilmerwood.com/

The minimum is for internet purchases. I do walk-in and have never had to pay a minimum.

Hey Steve! I'm very familar with Edensaw in Port Townsend, spent a good bit of time there when I was making/restoring furniture. Port Townsend's my hometown, and I have a couple of friends who work in Edensaw's mill shop. I can't wait to get home and go back, although we have a pretty fantastic store here in PA as well, Hearne Hardwoods, which is huge. It's only about 35 minutes from my house here, so I'm spoiled on both ends of the country. heh

I know what you mean about a kid in a candy store, though. Amazing stuff. I wasn't aware that Edensaw had a store in Kent, too. That's nice to know, and I imagine it's bigger than the PT one.

There is a great store about 2 hours from me in St. Louis called the Wood & Shop. Whenever I stop by I spend so long in there my wife ends up dragging me out.

I've been in his old location. Yes, great store with a lot of products hard to get at other locations. Lotsa delicious wood too.

My wife says that she thinks the PT store is bigger. But that is a longer haul for me. The one in Kent is about an hour away.

Thanks Dave. A customer of mine who is a Luthier told me about Gilmer's a while back, I completely forgot until your post jogged my memory.[:p] Thanks again!
