...I do have them occasionally!!

Most of the time when fundraisers are done on IAP, they're in the form of an auction. I wonder how many folks are excluded from participating due to the cost? I wonder how much would be made by selling $5 chances... might raise more money?

I can't fight the big dogs on price, but I can buy 2 or 3 chances on a good item...

Just my opinion, which is worth every cent you're paying for it!! :D

I've done a couple of RAFFLEs for IAP and raised quite a sum. I believe it is the same concept.

The first one I did probably still holds the record funds raised so yes, the idea works and will raise more money. ;)

I'm with you. I'll throw in for a chance or two to win a nice prize. I think my first time I won a raffle was from Dario in September 2006. I couldn't afford an auction but wanted to give something to the site so kicked in $10. I won over $100 worth of wood. I don't know wht the overall raffle brought in but I'd bet it was more than this wood would have auctioned for.

Mike: I completely agree with you and have made the point, privately, to a number of folks who have held auctions. Problem with a raffle is there is quite a bit of bookkeeping involved in keeping up with ticket purchases and receiving payments. Lots of folks don't want to mess with with all of the "paperwork". An auction is a lot easier to organize.
