That is sad news. Too young. He had many more saws to build. I talked to him a couple times back in the day. he was passionate about his work for sure. Thanks for the heads up Ken.
 
Very said to hear this. I have never met him, but have his table saw, which is one of my prized possessions.
 
Wow it is interesting to see so many people here on a pen turning site own his tools. I too have his tablesaw and drum sander. Wonder how many people use his tools to do segmenting work on pens. I have on occasion. In fact I have a pen on the bench that I used both tools to make portions of it. When I get it done I will post or I may hold it till Contest time. Not sure yet.
 
This is so sad. What a loss... I was a model builder, ships and model railroading, throughout most of my childhood and teens, and early 20s. I used Jim's Ropewalk tool to make rope for ships way back.
