Jet 20" Planer Inquiry

Do any of you good folks here have any information on this particular planer? Pros and cons from personal experience with the machine is what I am asking about.

The price seems just about too good to pass on, it is currently selling for $990.00 versus $2,683.00. Not to bad a discount!

Thanks for any input you might have to share.

Look at it closer----the motor is 3 Phase.
I have a 18 1/2 Woodmaster planer and use it all the time.
You can fill a 55 gallon trash can full of chips fast.

Nice if you have the room, the circuits - you will want a 50 amp 220volt circuit as that hummer will draw about 30 amps. And if you do not have 3 phase circuits to the shop, you will need to add in either a "Buzz Box" phase converter or a variable frequency drive setup to make it all work.

Without breaking out the catalogs, or knowing what you will need for wiring, you should be adding about $500 to the base cost for the electrical controls (assuming you do not have 3 phase 220 volts available).

Other than that, hell of a good value.
