Last year when I was experimenting with using bowling ball blanks I offered Jeff a few pieces to see what he thought of the material as a gift. A couple of weeks later I got a package from him with 2 of his scrollsawn blanks in it and what a great surprise that was as I asked for nothing in return, one being the Celtic Cross seen here. Anyways I had been leary of turning them (my own inexperience) and possibly ruining them till I got my carbide turning tool finished and what a dream they are to turn, no chip outs, grabs or anything and very little wet sanding was needed only enough to polish the pieces. So thanks Jeff this is a really cool blank and hope to get the other one done soon.
The kit is a Triton. How do you photograph white without the glare?
Sorry for the pics but if you look at the lower barrel my wife said it looks like a religious figure of a madonna or Virgin Mary I think and I have it positioned beneath the cross part.
