Hello Jeff, still having same problems with my computer. I did the following again today. Cleaned cache, cookies, and history. Disconnected the modem and took all cables out and powered off both modem and computer and disconnected power. waited about 20 minutes and put everything back and powered back up. Still same problem. I called Verizon and talked with them. They are my cable provider which is Fios. He checked his line and saw nothing. He looked at the speed and again fine. he had me open the site in different browsers, Google Chrome, IE and the one I am using Edge. He also had me try in Private windows mode and still all the same results. He said if there was a connection problem I would not be able to log into any forum but that is not the case. This is the only site I am having problems.

So if there is something you can think of to try I am open to it. I am using windows10, edge is the browser, did as I said above, ran my anti virus scan of entire computer and found nothing. I am on a computer. I do not have any other devices to get to internet. I do not have a smart phone.

Again the problems are-- very very slow opening of site and logging on. Sometimes it does not open and I have to refresh. After a few trys I get in. Then when navigating between threads I have to wait to load and sometimes they do not and it kicks me out of the site. I would have to start all over again. No other forum I visit does this. This started happening about 3 days ago. I did nothing different than turn computer on and did my search. Have been told sometimes this clears on its own but why only me. No one else is having a problem. Thanks for any info you can provide.

John - any chance you could take your computer to another location (i.e. a different WiFi network) and try it? That's not too feasible unless you have a laptop. A second option may be to go to a library or a friend's house and log on to the site there. If either of those two result in an improvement, perhaps that's a clue we can explore further. While I understand Verizon's approach, the problem would appear to be something very odd like a misconfiguration or the like somewhere along the specific path between your computer and our server.

Do you know how to open up a command window on your computer? If so, try typing this: tracert 204.197.249.113

That will tell us what route your traffic takes from you to our server. Maybe some clues in there. You can take a screenshot and post or PM to me.

Might be easier for you to email me. I think you have my address.

@jttheclockman John, your IP address was in a block of addresses tagged as a spam source. If this problem started recently, I am guessing that we had a recent spam registration from an IP address in the same network block as yours and when that block got banned yours did too. HOWEVER, what is bothering me is why you were able to see anything at all from the site. You should have seen a message that your ip was blocked. Very odd. This has happened before, but when someone sees that they contact me and I can unblock their IP. Not a precise science because most of us are on dynamic IP addresses. Sorry for the inconvenience, I'm assuming things are back to normal now. Let me know otherwise.

Jeff, I owe you a beer. I do not know what you did but I am up and flying again. Zipping around like a champ. I thank you for taking a look. We are back in business. I would hate to have to cut down my visits here. Thank You !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not get any warning messages about being blocked or had any viruses. As I said I ran my anti virus program and turned up clean. I am a happy camper again.

Just to be clear did that spam thing come from my computer?? Should I be worried on my end?
