I don't drink myself, but this is a case once again where OUR government officials need to get THIER hands out of MY business! This economy is going in the tank, and they decide to take up the case of 100 year old alcohol and "waste" a million dollars... freaking unbelievable!

We all work for the Redundancy Department of Redundancy

(who better keep quiet about being a Government employee......ooops slipped out [:D][;)])

To me, it's irrelevant whether one drinks this stuff or not. The stupidity of these so-called Legislators is amazing.
I've always wondered how a whole bunch of intelligent individuals could come together to form a Collective Moron, but our government proves the case time after time after time.

Our government does the same thing here in the Great White North. I can see it for stuff distilled in the bush. No one would ever know if it was full of rat ****, but 100 yr old stuff in sealed bottles?? As others have said, don't look for common sense in legislation, or for justice in courts.

Ok, I'll play devil's advocate [:p] Right in the article it states that the reason for action is due to state law. Would you prefer to have them blatantly ignore state law? If they can ignore one law, what's to stop them from ignoring another?

Laws are changed all the time. They need to figure out a better solution -- alter the law to prevent an outcome that surely wasn't envisioned and so that something of value isn't totally wasted.
