I'm hate to admit it, but I haven't been spending as much time in the pen shop. I've been repainting this and getting ready for the season..

Yes it is!!!! I have been waiting to ride for a while. I usually get a little riding in over the winter but not this time. Too much snow. Here are a few pics of my bike. It will have set of whitewall tires on it before I do any serious riding this year. Ride safe.

I don't get as much "bike time" in as I used to. I'm thinking about selling it although my Grandson is trying to convince me to hang on to it for at least 15 more years:rolleyes:.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but I spent the bulk of this weekend putting people back together after wrecking those things... One of them that will likely never walk again. I'd personally like to see motorcycles go away... Too many variables with other drivers, road surfaces, weather, etc.

"There are two kinds of motorcycle riders... Those that have wrecked and those that will"

Be safe!

I am 77 years old and the next time i get on a motorcycle will be the first time in my life. I have seen too many relatives and friends killed or maimed riding one. And in most cases it was caused by some idiot who didn't watch out for the bike rider.

I had my leg almost tore off when i was 14 by a lady who turned into me. It can happen. Now im 50 and havent stopped riding. It could happen again but if i'm gonna hide in the house because of all the things that can hurt me(including the house-fire,fall down, hurricane etc) then it wont be much of a life. Live hard die young. (guess i missed the young part.)

You guys get those things ready to ride, you need to make a trip to my part of the country... I live about 5 miles from the foot of the Cherohala Skyway that joins highway 129 (The Dragons Tail) in Robbinsville, NC.... during the summer we get between 100 & 300 bikers a weekend in Tellico Plains... they've come from as far away as Quebec to ride the Dragon.

If you come, be sure you holler at me... I won't ride with you, I'm like the Longfellow (only about 10 years younger) I've seen a few gory accidents by people who don't know their bikes or cars that don't respect them as they should... I had a bike about the size of Roy's when I was in the Navy on Guam in '61, but haven't been on one since.

I was in that area last June. I ride a Honda Aero and there is an Aero motorcycle forum on the internet. Every year the members of the forum have an All Aero Ride in TN. They reserve a block of rooms at hotel in Townsend for about a week. Last year was the first time I was able to make it. It was a good time. I think there were about 65 bikes there. I didn't make it on the Dragon though. I planned on it but my grandma got sick and was hospitalized while I was in TN. I ended up cutting my trip a few days short. I am hoping to make it this year to the AAR. They are planning it right now and I believe they are planning the first weekend of June. If I get to go this year maybe we can get together.

I had mine in 99 went down twice. I was unable to ride for 7 year (not because of the accidents). Had a friend get a broken neck and was in a halo for a few months he is walk nothing wrong with him. Lost my dad to a bike accident when he was 21. I lost respect for the bike I had. All the reasons in the world to not ride but I cant wait to get a new bike. Nothing like it in the world.
Life is short get out and live it.
Any day could be your last day and you never know how you will go. Car accident, fire, bullet. I never worry about it when my time is up its up.
If I can ever get the money together I would like to get a Hayabusa, bring it to the salt flats and try and get over 200mph. We all have to have goals. :)

By all means, let me know you're in town... I'm about 5 or 6 miles outside of town.

I definitely will. If I don't make it down for the AAR get together I will probably ride done there on my own. I am wanting to ride the Blueridge Parkway one of these days too. A lot of beautiful country to see down that way.
