Yup you gusses it.
Still Raining
Not only have we been getting wet every weekend, this week it just kept raining.
This weeks show is outdoors (most are) in a Apple orchard. Parking is down the road in a open field. We should have plenty of mud.
I am headed to the shop to cut wood blocks for the table legs---maybe they won't sink in.
It's just so much fun I can hardly wait.
Oh, driving the Dodge has been a good thing this season---she's a 4x4.

I'll trade you...I heard we're supposed to get snow a bit north of you.

It was a DIFFERENT time!

Years ago, Gary, we did a show at a monastery with GREAT grounds. As you say, parking was in the surrounding corn fields (that had been cut a couple weeks earlier).

Our second year, it rained pretty hard. We said we would be there, so we went, thoroughly expecting a "washout". Well, they had us at the bottom of a hill. So, we accumulated LOTS of water. Instead of avoiding our tent, people were coming in to splash in the puddles (and BUY!!). We were thanked OFTEN for being there and we had a VERY GOOD show. (Late 90's)

I wouldn't want to be doing the same thing now, public attitudes are not nearly so "jovial".

Good luck to you--hope people realize YOU are there to SELL, not listen to all their "bad economy" stories.

Ed you did notice that we are going------last weekend we sat up Friday in the rain---temps dropped Sat by 20 degrees--- wet and overcast all day long---Sunday morning the Sun came out and it cleared off----had a VERY good day of sales. Heck I even made enough to pay my bill over at your place.
Oh temps are going to drop to 38 this weekend-----just sounds like so much fun.

Sorry about that, but better you than me. Went squirrel hunting Monday and it was just wonderful in the woods. A nice crisp clear 55 degrees. In fact it has been so nice here, going back hunting this weekend again

Gary:
I feel for you.

My wife has always wanted to see New York. Being in education that would mean summertime and I thought maybe being downtown in New York on a hot summer day may not be too much to my liking. I promised that when I retired we would make that trip. Well I retired at the end of the last school year and we are heading out the door later today for the trip - forecast - rain, showers, cold. Guess the summer maybe have been a better idea.

Good luck with the show!

Michael

Big strom went through Sacramento, CA yesterday. High winds 3.4 inches of rain, a lot for Sacramento in one storm. Last I heared it is headed for the South East later this week, enjoy. It will take me the better part of a day to clean up the mess after things dry up a little so I can use the blower. Lot of trees and branches down and power still out. Biggest thing was the heavy, wind and trees full of leaves as the hadn't started changing and falling yet.

You guys talking about cold weather make me laugh. Heat index is 101 in Houston right now. Forecast is for 2 degrees hotter tomorrow before a "cold" front comes through. We have 2 seasons -- summer, and non-summer. Summer lasts anywhere from 6-8 months. Non-summer can still feature 90-degree weather.

Gary what is rain our weather person keeps saying it is around but none to be found here, forecast for Fri is a front(Rain) and cooler temps for weekend have to see it to believe it high mid 90s still

So far it's rained every day this week----temps keep dropping.
The Boss----SWMBO----is talking about staying at home----I haven't given up yet.
Today the forcast----100% chance of rain all day long
Let's see what the weather is doing in the morning-----this may be a waste of time.
I have a real big show coming up next weekend and can use the shop time anyway.

Cav, do you really think Gary will miss a show because of a little.....some.....alot of rain.
I just heard frome him he's going to get wet.......................

Paul---how's that saying go.

No pic it didn't happen.

Oh----We are going----I just keep thinking of the mailman, plus Ed has a few more things I need to order. Did you see the Blue "Wild Cat"?????????

Gary, i feel your pain. it's sooooo soggy here too.
weather man.....says.....we've had 11 days in a row with measurable rain....
oh puhleeeeze give us some sunshine tomorrow.....

I had forgotten what sunshine looked like. Left home yesterday in the rain heading for the SWAT symposium in Wichita Falls and arrived to actually see the sun shining. Talked to my wife last night and it was still raining at home. Been looking to see someone building an ark its been raining for so long.

I cut plywood 6x6 squares yesterday afternoon to keep the tables legs from sinking in the mud.
