Being a 'benevolent dictator' is no easy task, I don't think you'll fill the vacant seat too easily once he's gone.
 
OK, having thought about this a little, at 15, I could do anything, too.

So, Andrew, how about making your ambition a LITTLE higher??? Go establish world peace(to kind of "warm up" to the job), then, when that's done, we'll all make you "benevolent dictator" of your own site like the IAP!!!!
 
I've been saying for years that a monkey could be trained to do my job, but you couldn't find a monkey dumb enough to stick with it. I have a feeling that this could apply here as well.
 
If you think that you can do a better job than Jeff has done, why don't you just go and start a competing forum. I don't think that Jeff would have a problem with a little competition from you. The world peace would be a nice task also, but it's a little high to aim for at this point.

Guys, this was a light hearted joke, I know the time, patience, money, and sacrifice that jeff puts into the forum to make it how great it is today, this was in no mean a threat to jeff's power *bows down to jeff*

I get it that you are a 15 year old boy. And 15 year old boys often stick their feet in their mouths. What I don't get is why you're not developing a little humility? After the more or less gentle responses to your rant about Woodcraft having sold you a blank that you blew out, I would have expected that you'd develop some sense that maybe you don't, in fact, know everything. These folks have been doing what this website does for a really long time. They've had some experiences and thy've learned from it. Perhaps you could learn something from them.

I would suggest to you that, in the future, when you think that someone has done something stupid you should ask yourself if there's any other way to look at the situation INCLUDING any way in which you yourself might be the one who is in the wrong.

If you think this suggestion is, in fact, stupid, I feel sorry for you. That would indicate that you have learned everything and that there is nothing else to be gained by paying attention to other people. Geez, dude, you're going to have a really boring life!

We've had rabble-rousers before - people who just wanted to stir up trouble - and they've been a pain in the rear for people who really want to use this site.

Mudder - are you in the school of rub-the-pup's-nose-in-his-poop? I'm not usually, but I do belief in scolding inappropriate behavior. How else does he know it's inappropriate?

Andrew - I wasn't aware that there was any terrorism going on in this community. If I missed something, please let me know.

Finally, I'd love to praise his good work but I haven't seen any posting Andrew's made that have shown us pens he's made. I'd love to see your work, Andrew. The quickest way to gain respect from this community is by doing good work and showing it to others. Don't worry about whether your photos are great - heck, just put them on a scanner and scan your pens. We'd like to see more of what you do.

Andrew, It's a great pen - very nice work, great fit, great finish. It's especially challenging to turn wood cut on the diagonal like this. Congratulations!

Now instead of plotting world domination, go and make some more of those pens. You did a nice job, but that doesn't mean you are done. You are just starting and it looks like it is a good start. So stop screwing around and start turning.
