I've been using Mozilla Firefox as my primary browser for about a year and maybe over a year. When I first downloaded it, the browser was quick, fast and never had a problem. I was using IE7 that I updated to IE8 and it's okay, but Firefox was so much quicker.

A month or so back, they came out with an updated version of FF Ver 3.6, and I updated... ever since then it hangs up, freezes, crashes or just plan screws up... some days it works great, as today, others days I can use it at all and IE8 is only way I can browse. I use Yahoo on IE8 as the home page and it's so busy... and slow. I use the start up page on FF as my home page.. simple and clean.

I just a couple of days back, downloaded Google Chrome to try that and looks like it's much better.... I still use the Yahoo home page on Chrome, but it's not so slow and busy as IE8.

I tried last night for over an hour to try to get to a customer service page with Mozilla to try and see if there was something they could recommend... lots FAQ, no email to customer service anywhere I could find. It's fast reaching a point where I'm, going to uninstall FF.

Any suggestions??

BTW, in my searches last night, I did find out that I'm not the only one having problems with FF V3.6... several comments were made that the new version wasn't working well. I can't find any where that I can go back to Ver 3.0 which was great.

My experience was much the same as yours, the only difference is that I also did some online research when I first strated experiencing problems and found that it was fairly widespread. I just quit using Firefox rather than trying to get in touch with their customer service.

the latest version is buggier than the others. It hangs upon closing. It 'looks' like it's closed, but it's running in the background. They are working on it.

I've tried all the normal fixes... it clears the cache, cookies and history everytime I close down... I uninstalled and re-installed about 3 times... sometimes it works just fine, other times it's a pain in the dark area.

I use FireFox everyday. I found that about two months ago I was seeing the same issues. I deleted it, installed the latest version and stopped putting all the add-ons in it. It runs great now, with no pauses or interruptions. The only thing I added was the Alexa add-on and the inactive weather module.

Google chrome is great I use it too. Again, I run it with no add-on except the one created for FaceBook.
