Just wondering if anyone has used one of these bandsaws and what they thought of it. Actually I'm considering buying the Craftsman 14", which is the same as the Rikon.

Deal is, Sears has it on sale for $400, so that sounds pretty good, but don't want to get stuck with a clunker.

Thanks in advance for any advice guys.

If that's your budget limit, it may be the best you can do; but I think you would be much happier with its bigger brother - the Rikon 10-325.

It has a 1.5hp motor, 13" resaw, closed in base and is much better built.

I would highly recommend going to a Woodcraft store where you can look at both the 10-321 and the 10-325 to size them up side by side.

That makes a lot of sense. Funny thing is I usually don't try to skimp on tools, learned a long time ago it doesn't pay.

On my last visit to Woodcraft I did look at the 10-325, and it is very nice, but I didn't checkout the 10-321 there. I plan to go to Sears tonight (2 miles from the house) and take a look at it. I may well pass on it, we'll see.

I would definitely suggest taking your time to carefully evaluate those two bandsaws & evaluate your needs & expectations.

The 10-321 may very well meet your needs and it's certainly cheaper. Some people here have been satisfied with it and some have wished they had gotten the 10-325.

I haven't seen any posts from anyone who was disappointed with their 10-325.

Here's a few bandsaw threads you might want to check out:

Thanks Edgar, I appreciate your finding those threads, I'm sure there going to be helpful.

I did make it to Sears tonight and have decided to pass on the 10-321. Sears had one that looked like it's been on the floor a very long time and while I'm sure a newer one would have been nicer, there were somethings I really didn't care for.

So, I'm going with your suggestion, do some more homework and go from there.

Thanks again,

Kev
