I am sure that you will enjoy the show. Last year I went for the first time, here in Atlanta, and really enjoyed it. I will be going in Atlanta in two weeks when it is herea again. Please advise me if you see any great deals on the trend airshield. I want one, but the best price I can find is $240 or so. Thanks.

Steve, IIRC, CSUSA had the Trend on sale at the show in Columbus last weekend at $199 so it should be at the same sale price there.

And for those interested, the demos put on by Kirk Deheer were quite good. I went Sunday and learned quite a bit from his sharpening demo.

James,

To answer your questions about the Atlanta woodworking show. The show is January 26(noon to 6), 27(10 to 6), and 27th (10-4) at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park(down near Hartfield Airport)not the World Congress Center dwontown near the Georgia Dome and Philips Arena. It is $9.00 to get in, go to the web site www.thewoodworkingshows.com to get a coupon for free spouse admission or $1 0ff and the schedule and list of boothes.[:)]

Billy B..

Thanks for the info about the Trend airmask. I really want one but the price is steep and you never wee it for more than 20 or 25% off. I hope they have them in the woodworking show here.

o.k. the Trend shields were there and selling for $275.00. There were about 15 boxes stacked up and one open for a display. Peachtree woodworking was also there-- but I did not get any deals; well, maybe saved on shipping. The prices for what I got were the same as the internet prices. The big dogs, Delta, Dewalt were there. I did see Porter Cable displays. Long gone are the days when you could look at anything Luguna. Craft Supplies was busier than ever. I sat in on a band saw lecture from the Delta guy. He had too many issues with his microphone to keep my interest. It also could have been that my 6 year old boy fell asleep ontop of me during the talk. Rockler had some great looking Osage Orange blocks. I bought a 6.5 X 6.5 X 3 for $6.50. They also had Pau Fero and Bol. Rosewood. The local turning and carving clubs were doing a great job as usual. I was fortunate to get in free this year (fireman) it also works for police, military active status(if there are any left in the states these days). It seemed like a few vendors from last year were absent this year. I did see a 4' X 8' cnc machine running--- if I only had the space and $$$. I did find my supplies and featherboards.
Anyway... hope this helps
