I'm in the St. Petersburg, Fl. area on vacation and have been told I can take a small away from the family break. Any ideas of a place to shop for some supplies such as wood or...? I know of the Woodcraft, but have one close to home.

Thanks

Hey!! My wife and daughter have been in St. Pete all week as well
:)
If you find a good source for "pen stuff" maybe I can get her to bring home something other than the proverbial "t-shirt" :)

I live in St Petersburg. There is a guy down in Bradenton that sells pre-cut and waxed spindle, pen, and bowl blanks. Most are from local trees. His name is Steve and is a really nice guy. He usually has rosewood, monkey pot, sycamore, NIP (bowls), pecan, rainbow poplar.

His website is www.woodturningblanks4u.com. You just call or email him to setup a time to stop by.

Otherwise, there is just Woodcraft up on US-19.

Oh...also the Tampa Woodworking Show is this weekend. It starts tomorrow through Sunday. I will be there all day Sunday doing pen turning demos with Craft Supplies. http://cms.thewoodworkingshows.com/cms/Home/TampaFL319321/tabid/93/Default.aspx

Thanks! I stopped in at the woodcraft. They had a great box of exotic cutoffs. Found some goodies. Some great pendant stock and and Amboyna cutoff I can do some worthless wood casting with.

Thanks!
