My sister, who lives in Chapel Hill, NC, recently had a run-in with a copperhead. Unfortunately for her, the snake got a bite in on her heel before it was killed. As any good brother would do, I teased her a bit and made some jokes about it. In all seriousness, however, its been tough on her, and she'll have a good bit more recovery to do before things improve in her foot/leg. I truly feel bad for her.

But back to being the "good" brother, I figured I would commemorate her experience by making her a copperhead snakeskin pen. No problem, right ? Well, it appears these blanks are harder to come by than I thought, and I didn't think quickly enough to have my father (who was with her when she was bit) skin the snake after he killed it. Do any of you casters in our IAP community make snakeskin blanks, or would you be able to recommend where I could find a set of copperhead blanks for a Baron pen? I checked Exotic Blanks, and although they have a placeholder on their website, none are currently available.

Thanks for any insight you all might have.

You might want to repost this in the classified section or Deals trades and wants as well. It may get to the people you need to talk to quicker that way.

As I was thinking about it you might try contacting members"Its_virgil" and/or "Seamus"

I know they both do snake skin casting. Im sure there are more.

I just tried Exotic Banks website and they are listed but I dont know if they are in stock.

I tried Exotics, too. They are always my starting point. I'm guessing that someone here on IAP makes the snakeskin blanks that they sell, which is why I just went ahead and posted in here today. Hopefully the right person will see the post over the next couple of days. Thanks for looking into it for me, though, Mike.

most of the snakeskin blanks that were listed on exotics were cast by Dawn. She's been pretty busy with other aspects of the business I've gathered so her casting (skins and regular swirl resins) has taken a back seat.

I found a set that I have that was cast for a Smitty's Jr Gent 1. By my measurements, the tubes appear to be the same as those for the Baron. Can anyone confirm they are the same?

John, PM sent.
