inspired by the recent comments on olive in anouther thread I though I would psot this picture of a tool handle I turned from Russian Olive.
Let me know what you all think.
It is not real plesant to smell while turning and in this piece it sort of wanted to shread. but I have since learned not to turn from the center of the wood. not phrased well but I ws doing soemthing I really shouldn't have. But I like it and thought it worth the trouble.
By the way I have logs of this stuff.

Thats a nice turning Daniel. Good color in that piece and good grain as well.

By the way Daniel, it is obvious you don't have any of these on your property...you wouldn't be so kind [:D]

I work at a university that has plenty of them. But hey we can get a penturning trend going and you won't be able to harvest it fast enough.
I just hope you don't have to mow around them. from the ones I have seen you can get yourself knocked out that way.
