Sorry but I am excited,... a couple of hours ago we received the good news that my youngest daughter was "Early Acceptance" to MIT!! We have had it in prayer for a while now and thank God the wait is over. She is a pretty smart kid and has really been busting her bum in school like forever. Anyway, the family is pretty excited and my two other kids that are in the Naval Academy (Class of 2011 and 2013) sent their congratulations. OK, so now I am headed to the garage to make some more blanks to pay for tuition...thanks for listening.

Eugene.

Congratulations to you and even more so to your daughter. That is some acheivement.

WOW! That is an accomplishment, Not only for her, but for all who have helped her get where she is today! Congrats to you and your family!

Your daughter's accomplishment is a tremendous achievement and you are rightly proud. Congratulations!!:bananen_smilies046:

I am equally impressed with the accomplishments of your other two. An appointment to Annapolis is a high acedemic honor and not easy to come by. To have two in one family is pretty impressive. I'm guessing that does not happen very frequently??

Congrats Eugene, I continue my education at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Excellent school, you should be proud.!

Congrats Eugene! Now I can tell my wife I am supporting a college education by buying your blanks! Yea, I don't think she will buy it either, but it's worth a shot. Again, congratulations.

Congratulations to you and your entire family Eugene. I know all your children have made you a very proud father, and rightfully so.

Congrats Eugene. My daughter was accepted into MIT as well, so I know the excitement you are feeling right now. I prefer to think the nut does not fall far from the tree, so that is a compliment to you as well. My daughter ended up going to Wake Forest and is finishing her senior year. We were a bit disappointed that she didn't choose MIT...not the same reputation, but a good school and closer to home which is nice. We still brag on her MIT acceptance though, so go ahead, brag on; if you have worked as much as my wife and I did during high school preparing for this, then you have certainly earned it!

Eugene, thats a testament to how you raised them all .....congratulations to you and your wife.. and of course your daughter...

Thanks all for the kind notes. I was gone for a lot of their childhood; 22 years in the Army took me away from the home alot. Mom was left at home "cracking the whip" so she was the "potter" that did most of the molding but through the separations we still worked as a team. Oh, and some of you are right, they also got their Smarts from Mom ;)

Thanks, Eugene

Congratulations Eugene, certainly something to be proud of and worthy of a "shout out"! Sounds like you did a good job with the kids, and I know from experience that it is a job. Unfortunately too many parents today just don't take the raising of their children seriously enough to consider it a job. Again, congratulations to you and all your children.

Congratulations to you and your daughter.

I'll have to see what I can do to help with tuition next time I have money to buy some of your blanks.
