My last two orders were put in the mail this morning and one set of pens is being picked up this afternoon. This is my first real Christmas season with my website in place and I did not expect the amount of inquiries and work I had to do. Good news/bad news, I guess! Most everything I did was custom work, so I haven't had any time to update the website. Pretty lame I know.

Of course, this is small beans compared to those of you who do this full time, but trying to keep up with orders while teaching full time and dealing with the wife and kids was kind of nutty!

All but one order was successful. Had a lady want a special baton made for her fiance using wood from two trees from his childhood home. She sent me green cuttings from limbs that were so soft I almost shaped the d**m thing with my hands instead of using chisels. I held my breath while drilling and got it finished.

Thanks for listening/reading. Tonight I'm off to spend "quality time" with the family...that's what I've been told to do.

Merry Christmas to all! (or whatever other holiday you may celebrate) :D

My problems were all engraver related. Mis-communications and I just find out today that they won'tbe shipped back to me until tomorrow morning.

Note to self. Make cut off for engraving earlier so there is plenty of time to get them back.

My last 4 were delivered this morning.I had a very good Christmas season.Nice to be done though.

Chris,

I also accepted my first custom engraving job this year, and the customer also said it was WRONG. Of course, customer did not specify ANYTHING - no size, no font, etc. Now, he just says, "NOT right".

Next year, every order is VERY detailed and signed by customer.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all, "I'm finished!!!"[:D][:D][:D][:D]

Firstly, sorry for no posts since June this year, busy (but not penturning[:0]).

Have done my usual once a year charity thing, sold 4 pens, (they liked my other bits of wood though which is nice[:)]) the people here in Northampton are tight as duck do-dars, though what they see in those cheap pens from supermarkets I will never know, you over the big pond do seem to have your customers eating out of your hands.[^]

It is to cold in my garage to turn anything except blue from frost-bite, still my eldest did say he would buy his old fart of a Father a heater blower, its nice to have kids [:p] even if I had to wait 37 years for the present.

I will not bore you any more, have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and may you final cut not be a dig-in.[8D]
