Hello my penmakin friends. I just got my laptop in the mail today. I should be able to check in on the evenings!! For those interested, I am working my tail off makin lotsa money!!! I hate the humidity here in Florida, and i miss my family terribly, but now with my laptop i can at least hang out here some. Now if i could just talk my brother into buying a lathe for me to play with. Anyway.... more later my good friends..

Good to hear your making it in Florida, it is a bit more humid than Oklahoma. but it will sweat all the nasty Tobacco toxins out.

saturdays off?? not really. We installed about 150 yards of carpet, and about 400 feet of laminate wood floring. I had been home from work for all of 20 minutes when i logged in and started this thread. I have been here for over a week and tomorrow will be my second day off since getting down here.
I am trying to enjoy it as much as i can. There is definately plenty to look at!!!

Wait until August! It gets REALLY HOT and REALLY HUMID. It rains for about 15 minutes every day at 3:30 and there is so much steam coming of the highway that the cars have to turn the lights on to drive through it!
Have you discovered "collar coolers" yet? They are some sort of water absorbing crystals made into a neck "kerchif" or "doo rag". You pop them in your cooler in the morning. They absorb the ice water. Then around noon, you put it on and it keeps you MUCH cooler. They are a must have for outdoor work here.
If you don't find them there, pop me a PM and I'll send you a few.

Glad to hear from you. Yep, we just think it's humid here but nothing compared to Florida. However, it has been 100 percent a couple days here but not nearly as hot. Take care and try to stay cool.

yeah the humidity is intense. I am used to sweating, ALOT, but the humidity down here is unreal. I sweat unlike i have ever sweated in my life.
If i had a digital camera with me, I would take pictures and post them of the "burrowing Owls". These things are so flippin cool. they are tiny little owls that apparently live in the ground. there are white staked areas all over the place that i hear are "nests". I saw one the other day flying. it was pretty cool.

Sounds like you're having fun! Good to hear. Where exactly in Florida are you? I used to live in south Georgia and spent alot of time in Jacksonville and Fernandina. It's definitley a different kind of heat...
