I'm a bit miffed today

Got off the train last night to find someone had slashed two of my tires. I had less than 2000 miles on them since I only use my truck to go to/from the train station and the occasional errand. So now I have to shell out $230 for another pair.

I think I pissed someone off by the taking the last spot in the lot, but come say something to my face, don't cut my tires.

I'm going to take a day off at some point and park like I did again. Sit and wait for the 1st train in (the most likely culprits in my mind, as all the cars that were around me when I parked were already gone). See if I can get them doing it again on camera. Then let the police handle them.

That's unfortunate - some people get passive-aggressive about the little things in life, like parking spaces, etc. Like you said, I would prefer that they simply express themselves directly. Taking it out on your defenseless car is cowardice. BTW, does your mass transit system have video surveillance in the lots?

At the "park 'n ride" lots here, the big thing is thefts of catalytic converters. They are worth big $$ on the illicit parts market, and the metals inside are also valuable. I know a few people who have been hit by that. Not a cheap thing to replace.

unfortunately this is a small town and a private lot to boot. Heck they don't even have it lit up (which could land the owner in trouble if anyone is ever attacked).

Buy your next tires at Costco. Full warranty against any kind of damage (just prorated for wear). If they tires had a 40,000 mile warranty you would pay 1/20th the new price to get them replaced.
