The handle looks great Zack, You should have it by Thursday glad you went with a long handle the Paduak looks great,Well I will have one. It's in the mail as I type! But I couldn't wait so I already have the handle made. It's Paduak finished with Lacquer. The ferrule is made form a 1" copper coupler. I cut it to desired length and polished it.
Oh But you can, I love making them and IAP members get a price break. If I had a woodchuck, I'd chuck wood too.
So was Craig Jackson there or was it CSUSA? Most every one that sees the way they cut is a little bit intimidated by them, but in reality it's one of the safest tools you can use. I'm glad you like the Woodchuck,You will love it. It's the first tool I grab anymore. When I can be down to size in 15-20 seconds on a HARD wood, it saves a lot of time. I had mine at the turning at woodworld last weekend, folks could just stand and stare. They were demoing and trying to sell another brand for 3 times the amount. I could just smile. Some folks were afraid of it cause it cut so fast.
