The wife and I were in the NC Outer Banks last week. We definitely could have stayed longer. As you can imagine, there's a couple pen ideas that came from that trip. There's no telling when, but stay tuned. Something is definitely going to happen with this stuff.

Can't wait to see the results. I need to comb the woods behind my home in central NC for some found blanks.

My dad and I made some bandsaw boxes from a trip to Oregon a couple decades ago. Still have one or two of the driftwood pieces to use. That stuff cuts like butter on a saw, but I imagine you'll stabilize/cast this so it doesn't disintigrate on the lathe.

By the way I am all in favour of DIY for economy and saving the planet but even I draw the line at making my own sand paper that's masochistic !
