That's impressive! Though I'd leave them right where they are, personally. Sometimes things like that are best left undisturbed, and make more of an impact as they are rather than turning them into something else.
 
I've read, and seen film about, some temples and shrines where the floor is stone and is *still* worn away in a similar fashion (though not with as much detail). In particular the areas where Shaolin monks perform their daily exercises. It's absolutely fascinating!

You know i wouldnt wanna turn the bit with the foor prints either.... but i was thinking maybe the surrounding pieces would make a good conversation piece with possibly a picture of the foot prints.....

Anyway..... thats not possible ..... i dont think the monks would ever allow that!!! hahaha
 
Some sacred things should remain untouched. Some others should be destroyed, others already have been. I guess it depends on one personal values.



I don't think I phrased that quit right, But when you can take the pebble from my hand it will be time to leave Grasshopper

Very cool story! I've heard of footprints in the sand, but this is another matter...

I'd love to visit that temple someday too.
