Back in January my wife and I had a Chevy Tahoe that was going off lease and we had an option to buy it out and we seriously considering doing so. Wanting to get an expert, insider opinion, I decided to give Alex Chapa (Altacii) a call. He is the sales manager for a large Toyota dealership in Corpus Christi, about 150 miles away so I figured he would have some good advice. He is also a customer of mine through Turntex.com so we had talked a number of different times on the phone.

Anyway, I called Alex and he told me the buyout was not a good deal and that I should consider other options. He offered to sell me a new Toyota of my choice for a good price but we really wanted to buy something pre-owned that we could pay cash for and not have a car payment. We decided on a Toyota Camry and Alex offered to help us find one and make us a good deal.

Poor guy, he did not know what he was getting himself into! He found us a number of different cars but they just were not "right" for us. Finally after over a month, he had the right car for us, a 2007 Camry LE with only 27k miles that was Toyota Certified Previously Owned and he made me one hell of a deal on it that I could not pass up! This was truly a brother type of deal where he basically sold me the car for what they had in it and this was not just some smoke and mirrors used car sales tactic! I ended up paying right at trade in value on a certified vehicle with a 100k warranty!!!

So, all of the above to say that being part of the IAP family certainly has it's benefits beyond just what we get here on the site! There are some really great folks here and Alex Chapa is ONE GREAT GUY!!! Thank you Alex from the Seebeck Family, Curtis, Kimberly, and Katelyn!

Here is a picture of Alex and I from this afternoon when we picked up the car. BTW, Alex is the real old dude on the right side in all black!!

Real old dude?? I'm only 39, thats what hard work and long hours do to you. Thanks for the plug, Curtis. I really enjoyed meeting you and Kim. I look forward to seeing you again in your neck of the woods.

Hey Curtis, You can't go wrong with a Camery. I pick one up with low milage and it just goes and goes. Just add gas. We also have a Toyota MR-2 with 171,000 miles and it still runs great.

Glad you got a great deal, Curtis. Sounds like Alex is certainly a rare breed in the auto business. Thanks for being an IAP family member, Alex.

So, if Alex is the "old one" on the right, you must be the "chubby one" on the left. (I have no room to talk about this but couldn't pass up the chance.)

We just bought a 2009 Camry this summer, so far so good the gas pedal seems to work properly:biggrin::wink::tongue::tongue:.

It was a real pleasure to finally meet Curtis face to face. I have been buying blanks from him from the first time I saw his original cactus pens. I was honored that he trusted me enough to bring his family down to Corpus Christi to pick up his Camry. I told him that he would get a deal on any vehicle he wanted, not because I was expecting anything in return but because he is in my mind a very special customer. (he knows how to reach me away from work) When he showed up at the dealership he handed me something special in return. Below is a pic of one of his mountain laurel worthless wood cast pens on a kit I had never seen, a Jr Gent ball point. As uaual the pen is beautiful and has a mirror shine. But the pen came in one of his hand crafted pen boxes. A work of art in its own right. The box body is made of mesquite and has dark walnut sides
with incredible fit and finish and to top it off a wonderful inlay of the State of Texas. When he left he handed me another box with many more blanks that he had lying around his shop. Stuff that makes my own personal stash look like woodpile wood. An amazing gift and one that is greatly appreciated. Here are the pics.
