Yes, I had the best day of anyone who is a member, or lurker, of the IAP!

I had the oportunity to meet Ron Sardo (Ron In Drums) today and see some of his amazing work. He was also gracious enough to show me some bowl turning tricks and techniques. I came home with a cherry bowl, that like Shake and Bake, "I helped" make. I will be posting a photo after I get the finish applied and buffed out.

Thank you Ron for making this one of the best Saturdays that I can remember!!

What a fun day - there are so many nice people in the world. Some of the even make pens!

Billy (alamocdc) and Alan (arjudy) both invited me to their shops and I had a great time. I am indebted to both of them.

Chris

P.S. Did you share some dental techniques with Ron?

I'm glad you had a good time, Cav! And I have to say I'm a bit jealous. Nothing wrong with learning, and getting to do so while meeting a colleague is even better.;)

I just hope the visit wasn't too hard on Ron.[}:)]:D

Well Cav, we've both been to Ron's, now I guess I need to head a little left of there and visit you! I'll bring my trough. :D

Maybe between the two of us we can divvy up all the tools we stole and make something real...heh

I'll bring my dremel, you can show me how to make teeth! [:p]

Cav was a good student, he learned quickly and was able to grasp the techniques with out a problem. But I always thought he was much taller. He had to stand on a pallet to turn on the lathe.

Did he bring an assistant with him to prep the wood and calm it down before getting to work? You shoulda made him wait in the lobby for a half hour with some outdated magazines. heh [:p]
