What a bummer we are separated by 200 miles for the next 10 days possibly longer, this is the first time in nearly 30 years we've been apart, Her job sent her down to Cullman Alabama to help open a new store, and 9 hrs and 13 minutes I realize how lost I am with out her, the only time we've been apart have been my heart surgery and when I cut off my fingers, but she was there when I woke up. I guess that puts me in the codependent category,

I understand the feeling. LOML and I work together 80% of the time. Even among my peers in our work, few couples work "together" successfully. It is a bummer when LOML is not around!

For us, she has a mastered Japanese and is a walking dictionary. For me, I "read between the lines" of culture and individuals quickly and easily, so we work together well. When we are not together, things get boring. :)

Ken, she's in our neck of the woods. All my wife's kinfolks are in Cullman about 20 minutes away. What kind of store is she opening? Tell her when she comes through Decatur to wave! If you're coming down to visit her swing by and we'll talk shop.

I travel a lot and LOML says you never really appreciate your other half till they're gone. She says she really appreciates it when I'm gone, so I guess she loves me:confused:

Mick, she works for Jacks Family Restaurants, they are opening a new store near Cullman, I talked to her last night, she says the store is in the middle of no where about 7 miles out of town, they told he she'd probably be there between a week and 10 days but depending on how well it got running maybe an extra week. if that's the case I'll drive down, it's only an hour and 45 minutes away. I remember when we used to commute in California it took that long each way.

Skip when I was working as a Civil Engineering Technician I would be gone for a couple of months at a time it was like the same way for us. We were a lot younger then and we just got my daughter moved out a couple of months ago, so we have actually had some time just for us, but I remember it being adventurous, now it just monotnous with no one but my dogs to talk to.

But look at the bright side.......thaink of all the shop time you have with no interruptions.:biggrin::biggrin:

Ken,

Cullman is my wife's home town and a great little town. Your wife may be there in time for Octoberfest. (It's a dry county, so don't get too excited.) There is a large part of the population of German decent, so that is a real celebration.

I will PM you with a few of my favorite eateries in the area. If your wife has any hobbies or things she likes to do when traveling, PM me. I will see if I can help with some contacts. (edit: I did not read your earlier post. Since she works for Jack's, eateries may not be a good suggestion. I will send them anyway.)

Sorry you're seperated. Too bad you could not travel with her.
