pen vise .... seems to me like it would be called a press and the custom drilling vises we use would be the pen vise
I keep getting confused with termanology

Vise IS the one for drilling.
Pen press is the one for assembly.
There are times when a clamp is used as a pen press (I have). If you would, I bet you can use the vise for assembly too. To confuse you more...I use an arbor punch as pen press now. [B)]

I have noticed that a lot of the suppliers list the "press" as a pen vise that is what is confusing me

Tracy, just so we are on the same page, what I just posted on the Raffel is the pen vise and what I posted on the tool gloat is the pen press. Clear as mud?

Aye said the blind man .... I knew what I was looking at in the gloat, and figured get a couple of tickets to help the site if nothing else.
