Saw a add on craigslist.. No picture.. Just said model number ryobi lathe and a few chisels to go with it.. $60.00. I went to take a look at it tonight.. I wanted to get a smaller lathe for my daughter.. I start to look at it... It was a estate sale.. The guys brother had died.. He hadn't seen him in over 10 years.. Anyways.. The lathe looked practicaly brand new.. I start talking with the guy.. Getting ready to try and get the price down.. He then brings out the chisels. All I did then was reach for my wallet.. And gave him the $60.00.. Look at the picture below of the chisels. They had never even been used.. I then start talking with him.. He gives me all this walnut for $10.00.. Today was mine and my daughters lucky day..

She as already started using it..

I agree with Phil, it`s a great deal you got yourself but the time spent turning with your daughter is an even better gloat![^][:D]
 
Yep I agree.. She is 15 going on 32.. So what little time left I enjoy.. She was a little scared of the bigger lathe.. So this worked out perfect.. Now she really, really wants to get out there... The guy had a lot more walnut left.. I started thinking after I left about it.. I am probably going to give him a call tomorrow and see what he wants for the rest.. I'll probably put some up here if I get more.. Things like this never happened to me.. Until I started making pens.. Guess it is Karma....[:I]
 
My daughter at 2 is to young to turn but I enjoy the time when she sits in the shop with me with her safety glasses on in her little chair watching daddy. There is nothing better. I will give her till 3 then shes a turnin.[;)][:D][8D][:)]
