Well as most of you are aware I posted a few days ago saying I am done with pen turning and the forums. Due to some personal issues I am selling everything to due with my pen making business. Well the majority of you asked me to stick around and hang out. Well I Agree I cant leave here, I found myself still peeking in here looking at all the post and the nice pics of the pens everyone has made I couldnt leave:) so thanks for the support everyone. Thats what this place is all about. SUPPORT and Friendship.
So here is the good news.
Well my guy came by today to pick everything up and with the cheque in hand had a proposal. He asked me to keep my lathe and turing tools and slimline related tooling, glues, finishing stuff, MM etc, and make him pens. He requested that I make him pens so he can concentrate on other items for upcoming large shows and website sales. So overall its Kinda like a business partner deal. He will be the boss run the business and do whatever he likes and simply said for now.
I will make slimlines and he will buy them at a agreed set price as soon as their finished.
SO LUCKY ME

I get to keep my equipment sell the pens I make right away. At a much lower set price but enough profit to keep me motivated. And I don't have to set up at a show trying to sell them.
Best of all I still sell the business side and I get to keep my hobby going and still pay the bills to keep the family happy. SOMEONE HERE was praying for me. Because I have a giant  on my face.

Now who was it that was selling fancy slimline pens here?

Rob that's great news, you know the bad thing is there is no 12 step program for this addiction, and one day at a time doesn't quite do it either, I'm glad every thing worked out so well for you.

Sounds like a WIN, WIN, WIN situation. You get to keep turning, you get to keep making money and you still get to share pics of your good-looking pens.

Reminds me of an OFFICE episode. Too Funny

Glad you could stick around. God has a funny way of doing things. Sometimes he just wants to know that you are willing to give something up, and then he turns it into a better situation. Which seems is the case here. You get to do something you love, You get to make some money while doing this something you love, You get money for the business side, and You don't have to lug your gear all of the place trying to sell your wares.

Win, Win, Win

What a great deal. I felt really bad when I read your post and was hoping that you could figger out something.

There really was a silver linning in the clouds that just blew through Colorado....A hearty re-welcome.....

Congrats. I'm very glad it worked out for you. Much better than dropping everything. You get to keep the part you love. That is awesome...

Welcome back Chief! After reading your goodbye post, I started thinking about how sad I would be if I were forced to give up something that I love as much as pen turning. I am glad this worked out for you!
