Ok, So i was crusing around here on IAP one day when i noticed a thread in the management section something about PITH something. I'm not management, and I don't know what a Pith is, so i skip right past it.

Then, days, maybe even longer, later... There is a different thread somewhere else about Pith something or the other. By this time, my interest is growing, so i click on it. I don't remember exactly what all it said, but i quickly realized it still had nothing to do with me.

Now, there are pictures of really cool pens left and right Pith this and Pith that, and i think people are trading these pens back and forth?

What the heck is going on? Did i just miss out on the coolest thing since sliced bread or what? Do you trade, and keep what you recieve forever? How often are these things? How does one become eligible? How does one sign up? Why is it called Pith?

Sorry to be a pain... I just don't want to miss the next one if it happens again.

I am not in charge of it but I do participate. I believe they hold this every year. You make one for someone and someone makes one for you. They are yours to keep forever. Partners are paired up at random. You can send whatever you want to your partner unless you both agree on something beforehand. It is called PITH which stands for Pen In The Hat since all of the names are put in a hat and drawn one at a time.
 
I just got finished reading alot of the threads about it and understand alot better now. I just refret not signing up. Wish i would have realized what was going on earlier. And it is only held once a year you say? That sucks. Gonna be a long year waiting and planning...
 
There is no set time between PITH's. I've seen them a couple times in a year and one year there wasn't one at all. Most of it depends on the interest of the members. Like you, there may be others that missed this one or were unable to participate at this time. Bring it up in a few months and if there is enough interest, another PITH is born.
 
Birthday Bash? somebody fill me in on this one too please? Is this another trade? Where the heck do you guys learn all of this info?


Dennis, I thought the theme was the weakest part of the whole deal. I personally hate seeing red and green together, especially the bright Christmas versions. I would prefer a more utilitarian theme. Everybody has to do a ballpoint. Everybody has to match up with their partner and decide on a kit. BOTH traders must START with the same kit parts. Something along those lines. Anyway, just my thoughts...

Looks like i may not have to wait for a PITH! I think i have a private trade going on now!! WOO HOO! Man this pen making stuff is good fun!
 
Ron, I have been working on the next possible PITH theme but for now I am going to keep it a secret in case I hold off on it. But I think it will rock!

The Birthday Bash should be coming up if I remember correctly, in February. It runs all month long with contests and prizes and fun for all!

BTW if you are interested in trading pens, let me know. I always like trading with people.
