Greetings to everyone.
I am A.R. Vionnet and reside in the very north of California, inside the redwood forest.
Being retired three times, I just cannot stay away from doing something and, as my grown children would say, "when I'm not working, I'm working", and that is the way I like it.
My entire life, I dealt with numbers and business. Although my degree was in economic science, I truly enjoy doing things with my 1 1/2 hands (the right one is paralysed) and it has become a true pleasure to work with woods of all origins.
For the last year I have been making cutting boards in exotic woods and as of late, I acquired a Jet lathe, which I very much enjoy and started turning some wood and lately a great deal of pens, so as to utilise the small left over pieces I was giving away or using as kindling. It is a waste to throw away very nice pieces of Cocobolo, Padauk, Acacia and even Gabon Ebony, just because they don't have the size for the other items.
Therefore, I acquired about 50 pen mechanism kits from suppliers and began to enjoy the true learning portion of my new life and not just chasing financial crimes, as I was doing up to my first retirement or doing equipment financing for 27 years, which I did with our company until I sold it in October 2010.
I am finally free from any and all obligations, so I built a small shop next to our home and that is where I hide most days.
I would be quite grateful to read any type of advanced techniques to do the best possible jobs in pens.
Anybody who may have a question or something to contribute to my betterment in this area is quite welcome to contact me.
Regards.
