Hi Everyone
My first post on the forum!
All the way from the UK

Could someone help me with this,
If you make a hybrid blank, wood+resin
Do you have to stabilise the wood if it is perfectly sound?
I understand you do if its punky.
But good sound timber, it sort feels unnecessary.
What do people think?

Thanks
Peter

This has been bounced around before and I see the same results. Rather than just say some do and some don't, which you already see, I'll say it's not always necessary. If he woods in good shape probably not needed. I've never seen or heard of anyone saying stabilizing wood ruined anything. That is if the process went well. So to answer your question , In my opinion no you don't always have to but it will never hurt. Once you've done and turned a few you'll learn when you can get by doing it or skipping.
