Maine's new Uhaul company. My brother lives there and he thought it was funny. Wouldn't be all that much out of place in Vermont.

My Wife and I once moved about 50 miles using just our Geo Metro!!! Yes, matress strapped to the roof, and two easy chairs crammed inside. TG, it didn't rain much that day!

Ya see all kinds of stuff. The most weird-hillbilly type thing I've ever seen was years ago a car drove in my station asking for a place to bed down like 'one of them thar restin areas things'. I can still hear him. Driving an old Hudson [remember those boats] with two boys strapped on top of the trunk leaning back against the back window. The inside was crammed with their stuff so they still needed to 'load' the boys. And this ain"t no joke. Forget where they were comming from, but don't know how they got this far without being caught. Used to be able to tell the rich 'okies' from the poor by how many mattresses they had tied on top the car.

I strapped a couch to the roll bars of a Jeep Wrangler a few years back. Now I wouldn't have done it for a long distance, but it needed to go 20 miles and I wasn't about to carry it. Come to think of it, I also brought home a set of King sized mattresses on the bars of that Jeep.
