HANDLE with "care" - NOT!!!!

Have a "minor" obsession for making tool handles as the pix will demonstrate. Like to experiment with "shapes" and getting the proper contour to fit the hand. Traditional shapes on handles are fine, but I like a different look. Of late I've been mixing "round" with hex and octagonal patterns to get an ergonomically pleasing handle. Given that I like to use carbide inserts(don't drop them) for my tools, they do not roll off my workbench.Very easy to grip and made to fit a variety if hand sizes. Hope you like these.:)

very cool... I just started making my own handles. I think I appreciate my tools more when I see that I have made the handles for some reason or another.

A ton of ideas represented in those. Nice work. I love making my own handles. I learned how important a handle coudl be when I used a hammer all day every day. I went to my parents to do some work and borrowed my father cheap hammer. after about 30 minutes my hand was cramping. I suddenly realize why a hammer could be worth $45. With my hammer I could work 8 hours a day every day no problem. and it is all due to the handle.

Daniel you make an excellent point:

Good (comfort)ergonomics = Good ($$$) economics

The look good. Personally, I prefer round, but round with a single flatspot on the bottom side of the tool might be good for the anti-rolling effect. I'm very happy with the handle you made for me.

Thanks Jeff, glad that you like the handle and hope that you are getting used to your ROTONDO.

The large "flatstop" is easier to "grip" than round and helps to reduce hand fatique and well as having the anti-roll effect against dropping tools to the ground.

Special thanks to the kindness of the members here that have offered encouraging words.:)
