i'm curious to know what everyone got for christmas... :)

i assume a bunch of us got some nice tools and such, let's hear about 'em.

it's interesting explaining what you want for christmas to people when all you desire is tool related stuff.

me: no, it's the 750X
LOML: why the 750?
me: well, it sharpens the larger bits.
LOML: oh.

so, yes, i got a drill doctor.

what'd you get??

my tool for christmas was a drill press which i had been frustrating over. Harbor freight floor model? Grizzly and wait for shipping? That Craftsman with the laser that was on sale last week for 199.? Well when the wife said go get what you want, and the Craftsman went on sale that day for 179. I thought it was a sign from above. Now i can do segments and inserts and can just drill a blank without worrying if i will come out the side of it! Merry christmas to me!Hope everyone else had a good christmas and may the next year be better to you. :)

LOML didn't "give" me anything except permission to buy. I got a Jet JSSG-10 Wet Sharpener and a Jointech SmartMiter.

I too got a Drill doctor, but just the small one. I have a friend with a big one if I ever need to sharpen larger bits so it's not quite worth the extra cost to me, I hardly ever use bits bigger than 1/2" except for pens.

Hate to brag but..I got a 1950's Craftsman Lathe with stand and turning tools all of wich have never been used..A sorby bowl gouge and sorby splinle gouge, a tool by crown that is used for the inside of goblets (she said it was on clearance) 2 sizes of steb centers and a cell phone with tv/internet/camera/camcorder/radio/4G mp3 player, gets up and pours you a beer etc..

Santa also brought my daughter an incubator and 5 turkey eggs from the state fair grand champion blue slate turkey

He brought LOML beer, wine, mead and cheese making supplies..so it was a heck of a good Christmas

Bill it is good to hear that you can find your way to the shop- it must be far away from the house.:D;)

I did not get anything except cologne and a few clothes items- so I will have clothes to wear in the shop.[:I]

Now if I understand correctly, Harold's wife is making beer and cheese and Harold's phone will pour it for me???? I'm headed for Harold's house [:p]

On the tool side, I got a benchtop 6" jointer and an Alan Lacer DVD. Man that guy is a surgeon with a skew.

OK, Harold, fess up!!!

Your profile says you work for harbor freight tools. Does that mean they are your EMPLOYER, or like the rest of us, the only real reason you work is to go to Harbor Freight???????

I got a Beall 3 on buffing system and a new Robert Sorby spindle gouge and skew. Best of all... friends and family got pens that they really seemed to appreciate and co-workers bought a few more so I can continue this addiction into the New Year... which Woodturningz and a few other places have pretty much already consumed. $$$ ;) :D

Major score. LOML got me a Tormek T-7, with all the accessories.
I even had time with a week of vacation to build a stand for it!

LOML got me a new set of chisels and I got him a Paul Huffman vise. Life is good!!!!! We got others things but these are the important ones :D

cool, sounds like most had a good christmas. on top of the drill doctor, i also got a dewalt router (fixed base and plunge) and a dewalt random orbit sander and to top it all off i got a porter cable dovetail jig... can't wait to dig into em!
