OK for a long time on this site I have seen others use different color type in answering questions, I have seen others use multiple quotes in one posting, and I have seen others use smiley faces. How ??? Where??? Why can I not see these anywhere on my posting options??? Do I have some setting not turned on or am I just too dumb??? I have been able to do these things on other sites but not here and evidently it is possible because I see others do it. Any help???

Its not very difficult the main thing to do when replying to a thread, click on the advanced button at the bottom, instead of typing in the box. This will open up a new reply box with all the options.

For doing multiple quotes use, you need to click on the multi-quote button ("+) on each of the entries you want to quote from. The button is at the bottom right of each entry.
Then when you hit reply button each of the quotes will appear in your reply box ready for you to add your comments.

The option for colour that you want to use in either the quick response or the advanced is to click on the triangle beside the uppercase A that is underlined in black. That opens a colour palette for you to select from.

Nope not seeing it. When I do the normal reply which I am doing here or click on the advance button under the quick reply all I sse is the smiley faces that can be added at the top of the message. No color pallete no underlined A. I am probably looking right at it but just can not see it.

Maybe I see something different because I'm on a Mac using Safari but in the quick reply box there is a line across the top that shows 2 'A's with a red X through them then the bold B, then the italics icon, then the underlined U and next to it is the underlined A with a little upside down triangle. If you click on that triangle and hold it should give you the palette.

Smiley

No there is nothing on top of my message boards in either quick reply or standard reply. Only thing is a group of smileys under the message area and they are for inserting in the title of the message suc as this.

That is what I am used to on other forums but that is not what I see here. I do not have the smileys on the right or the buttons cross the top. That is why I am asking I may have a setting turned off but do not know which one. The mystery continues. How did you get that picture of your page?? I would do that to show you what I see.

If you go to your User CP page and under setting & options click on the edit options that takes you to a page and right at the very bottom is the ability to change what I think is the problem. You want to click on the advanced WYSIWYG option and that should solve your problem.

John, Have you ever gone into your profile and edited your settings? I think that Jeff referred me to it and it was just a matter of clicking on a box and changed a setting. I did not have the advanced before that either. I want to learn hoe to import pictures into my message also.

:smile-big: Michael got it first. I learned something today:smile-big:I would like to thank all that helped. Now I have to figure out the multiple quote thing.

I A DUMMY!
I forgot to look at the "fonts" and see what the default was on my computer.

Thanks You GuyS For the Help.
