I have got to the point that I need to reproduce my formulas so i need a way to measure my paste pigments more accurately, but easy as well.I talk to one member how uses syringe's for his Mehk and for his pigments, but said with the thick pigments it was not that easy to get good results.Any input on a easy/cheap/fast/clean way to do this with good accuracy???Thank You everyone,Victor

A precision scale is the traditional way to repeat such measurements. Lee Valley sells a small electronic scale that my fiber oriented wife uses to measure dyes for coloring fiber. That one is pretty low cost.

shell reloaders use electronic scales precise to 1 70 thousands of a pound -- measure to to a tenth of a grain and 7000 grains per pound. Those are available from places like midway arms.

Then there are the labratory balances and the higher costs.

I think you could probably use tiny measuring spoons because you can scrape along the top to even it out. As long as there are no voids in the paste, it should work fine.

It's the same when you're baking. If you need a teaspoon of peanut butter, you smoosh it into the teaspoon and scrape off the excess so you have and accurate measurement.

I know they sell specialized measuring spoons for tiny measurements.

+1 on the measuring spoons.

I use a tounge depressor (new, unused) to sweep off the power pigments I use, paste should work just as well, if not better- a paste won't fly out of the spoon if you sneeze DAMHIK...
