OK, I know this shouldn't be that hard, but I'm finding it very difficult to find a pen shop in the Cleveland Area. I try yellowpages.com and type in fountain pens, ink, writing instruments, and a buch of other stuff I can't even remember. Is there a trick to finding a place locally to buy paper pads and other consumables?

Looking for an actual place that sells FP ink, stationary, and even pens. I am not looking for OfficeMax or Staples. I know hwere they all are.

Thing is, they DO sell FP ink, stationary and pens.

Dario, I'm not looking for a $30 Cross pen. I'd like to visit someplace with multiple brands of pens and supplies of all sorts. (an actual pen shop)

Bummer, almost as bad as Arizona [V]

Oh well, phone number disconnected. There is a place in Columbus that sells many brands. If I need to head that way, I'll stop in. (2 hour drive)

I posted the question to a fountain pen board and this is the only answer I got.

"The only place I can think of is a Mont Blanc store in Legacy Village in Shaker Heights. If anyone knows a place I'd be interested to hear too."

Paradise Pens is an ineresting store in Columbus. A visit will convince you that we usually do not ask enough for our pens. I would love to get a copy of their customer database!

They have pens and ink - I didn't see stationery there, well, not much. Lots of brand name pens with nice displays.

Two thoughts: One: Not every town, even bigger cities, has specialty pen shops.
Two: What do you need that members here cannot help with? Between IAP and TPS, you probably have the best source of pens and pen related items anywhere.

Here's a link to all the store locations of Paradise Pens. Looks like there is one in Ohio.

I might have a small collection of Fountian pens[;)] and stop at a few places when traveling. I use this site to see what is out there.

Anthony, might shoot hime an email to get on the list.....

Sure Jim, I will franchise the PenWorks name. [:)]
Great way to have fun and loose money [:p]

I have a insurnace client that sold his office supply/fine pen store in the Chicago area in '99 and moved to AZ. His fine pen department did about 400K a year. Not bad for downtown Chicago [:0]

It's not that I can't get help from you guys. It's that I want to physically see in person the different pens made today as well as the various inks available and supplies such as stationary. I posted a question the other day on inks and got a ton of good info. I want to use some of that info though and to me, picking up a bottle at a time to try from a local place is a heck of a lot easier and most likely cheaper than buying a bottle at a time and having it shipped to me from somewhere else.

Last thursday I spoke with a gentleman who owns a pen repair business here in Ohio. He carries some of the ink that was recommended and invited me to stop in and see him. He also mentioned that if I had a website for my stuff that he would link to it from his site. Problem is that he is an hour away from me, so even that would be tough to do just to buy a single bottle. (although I would probably learn a ton, so it may be worth it)

Anthony, if you have seen downtown Chicago lately, it wouldn't be a surprise that someone did $400k in pens. That place is one large shopping mall with plenty of money walking around in buildings.

BTW guys, not sure if it is well known or not, but the T-333 applicators that Mannie S. sells on his site are awesome for flushing ink out of the nibs on the kit pens we buy. Teh applicators fit snugly over the little nib and allow you to flush with water easily.[8D]

<br />Anthony, is that gross or net?

Gross sales, he said his inventory didn't turn over that often, but the profits and average sales were alot higher than the other part of his business.

Mike, you need to take that ride to his store. Even though all this stuff and the pictures are available on the net. There is nothing like seeing in person and being able to touch and feel it.

Anthony, I haven't given you a spelling lesson in awhile. Remember this tip: You lose money when you hang out with loose women! [}:)][;)][:D]

Me thinks he was trying to be smooooooooooth [;)]

Your right Mudder, about as smooooth as 80 grit [:D]

Cav, if my teachers would have used analogies like your example, I could have learned & remembered something. [;)]

When I read Mikey's question about how to locate pen shops in his local area, I was thinking that that would be good information to know in general. I would want to know how to find pen shops in my area so that I could approach these shops to see if they would be interested in carrying my pens. It's a good question, because (gasp) there's a lot of businesses that don't have a web presence.
