How should I finish a pen rack?

I am making a pen rack from some Walnut I had around the shop.

What finish should I use on the rack, that will not damage the finish on my pens.

Johnsons paste wax-------it will seal the wood and not hurt the pens.
You really don't want the display to be to fancy or it will take away from your items.

Just a ideal---there are many ways to do this.

Start with a coat of orange shellac, it REALLY brings out the color in the walnut!! After that, scuff it with some #0000 steel wool and top coat it with some poly.:wink:
