Need a quick and dirty estimate on how many onces of Alumilite it take to make a standard 3/4x3/4x6 blank.

I have a blank mold that is 7/8x7/8x5.25 that takes 3.25Oz of PR. I would imagine it would be close to that in Alumilite but I am not positive.

4-5Oz should cover it.

Thanks, it should be less, since there will have the tubes already in the mold. But like I said, I needed a quick and dirty estimate to do some rough calculations.

.554 ounces per cubic inch of mold space you want to fill will get you the correct amount.

In your case .75 x .75 x 6 = 3.375 cubic inches x .554 = 1.8698 ounces of mixed Alumilite. Of course if you are doing tube in casting, then you need to allow for what space is displaced by the tube. I guess you could get all geometry smart and figure the volume of you tubes and subtract that before multiplying by .554.

And since I hear that he has crossed over to the "dark" side ...I hope to see one for PR soon too!
