how much to charge for an item? I have a small show this weekend, my first, and I am having a problem with prices. Don't want to make a million but would like a decent for what I build. I make a small biplane shelf and have taken up building rocking horses that my Dad use to build. The shelf is 3-1/2' long and the horse is about 21" or so to the top of the head. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey Jim!!

There is NO right answer. But, try to find similar products in your area from WalMart to your "high end" department store. Hopefully, this will give you a range of prices. Find a number in that range that makes you comfortable.

The scary part of pricing: If you make it too low, you will sell out early and know you could have made more money for your work.

If you make it too high, you will not sell any.

Last, you can always LOWER your price, halfway through the show. Raising your price is VERY difficult.

Hope this helps, some.

Yeah my Dad made these horses for many years. He found a pattern he liked and tweaked it to his liking. He suffered a stroke last may and has been living in 24hr assisted care since. He built them up until his stroke.
Thanks for the replies.
