Joe, locate the user name of the person you want to pm. You can do this from one of their posts in a thread or you can search under Member Tools-Member List. That will take you to their profile and on the left hand side under My Contact Info, there is a link to send an email. Hope this helps.
 
Click on a member name to get to their profile, then click on the link that says "Click to send an E-Mail" OR you can click the envelop icon in a post made by the person you want to contact.

It's not a PM system, it's a single-blind email system and the messages arrive however you happen to receive your email. When you contact someone, they get your email address and can reply directly to you via email.
